EQUATE Celebrates Kuwaitis’ Resilience and Pride with a Media Production for National Days
EQUATE’S Senior Executive of Corporate Communications and Government Affairs, Dr. Abeer Sulaiman Al Omar, “On the occasion of National & Liberation Day, we have used inspiring scenes from the past that reflect the essence of Kuwait and thus, its people.”
EQUATE Petrochemical Company, a global producer of petrochemicals, launched a new media production in celebration of the Kuwait’s National & Liberation Day. This media production comes as an homage to the essence of Kuwait based on its people’s resilience, progressiveness, patriotism and pride.
The film is based on one of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah’s memorable speeches that has surprisingly never been used in any communication. On this occasion, EQUATE shares this film with the Kuwaiti people to help them understand the inspiring words of Kuwait’s founder. Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem’s speech is the one he made on the occasion of Kuwait’s independence as a British protectorate in 1961. In it, he expresses his gratitude and hope for Kuwait, its citizens and promising future. The film merges Abdullah Al Salem’s words, voice and a few clips of his original speech with images of Kuwait’s milestones throughout a course of 56 years that complement what the visionary leader is saying.
EQUATE’S Senior Executive of Corporate Communications and Government Affairs, Dr. Abeer Sulaiman Al-Omar, said, “In this nostalgic and inspiring TVC, we have used emotional scenes from the past that reflect the essence of Kuwait and thus, its people. This interpretation means a lot to us at EQUATE because it embodies our country’s innate progressiveness, tolerance, democracy, resistance and patriotism.”
The scenes include those from Kuwait's liberation from the Iraqi invasion that shows Kuwaitis celebrating and parading in the street, the late Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah's arrival to Kuwait after the war as he memorably and humbly kneels on his nation's precious ground, Kuwait Football Team's legendary win of the Asian Cup in 1980, Kuwaiti women's role as symbolized by Fatima Hussein during the cultural and artistic movement that was chaperoned by the late Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Kuwait's resilience and bravery during the Gulf War which is epitomized in the Al-Qurain House. Moreover, historical events that are shown in the film, highlights Kuwait’s democratic political system, a fact that is shown by political figures such as Khaled Al-Ghunaim and Abdullah Al-Naibari and finally, Kuwait's solidarity in the face of terror after the bombing of the Al Sadeq Mosque in 2015, a catastrophe that not only unified the Kuwaiti people but left the entire world in awe as the country's leader, the current Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, entered the bombed mosque less than an hour afterward. All of these moments are complemented by a voice over of Kuwait's founder, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem.
