Kuwait – August 31 – 2009 — EQUATE Petrochemical Company announced achieving 19 Million Safe Work Hours without a single a single Day Away from Work Case (DAWC).
Commenting on this achievement, EQUATE’s Environment, Health & Safety Leader (EH&S) Yousef Al-Gharabally said “As safety is an international requirement for various sectors, this is a true industrial milestone for Kuwait as it not only includes EQUATE’s employees, but also workers from contractor companies conducting business with EQUATE.”
Al-Gharabally added “In line with the requirements of ISO 14001, EQUATE implements several EH&S programs to ensure all its business operations and business activities are safe, environmentally sound friendly to health.”
Al-Gharabally noted “Being an international joint venture, EQUATE is one of the first companies in the Gulf to implement Six Sigma training and projects relevant to EH&S. Such things have qualified EQUATE to win the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) – Kuwait Chapter Gold Excellence Award 2009 as the top GCC company in EH&S.”
