Kuwait – May 7 – 2011 — EQUATE Petrochemical Company showcased its world-class environmental initiatives and activities to schools in Farwaniya governorate.

Under the patronage of Governor Lieutenant-General (retired) Abdulhamid Al-Hajji, the event was attended by several Ministry of Education officials and administrators of the governorate’s schools who were acquainted with EQUATE’s environmental efforts aimed at the overall sustainability of Kuwait.

During the event, EQUATE employees highlighted the company’s environmental initiatives, especially the Middle East’s first Plant Water Recycle Project and Kuwait’s first CO2 capture and re-use Project.

Established in 1995, EQUATE is an international joint venture between Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), The Dow Chemical Company (Dow), Boubyan Petrochemical Company (BPC) and Qurain Petrochemical Industries Company (QPIC). Commencing production in 1997, EQUATE is the single operator of a fully integrated world-scale manufacturing facility producing over 5 million tons annually of high-quality petrochemical products which are marketed throughout the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe.
