Isam Shomaly is Dow’s Business Vice President, Feedstocks and Commodities. Shomaly oversees and assumes setting the strategic direction and driving the business results of this critical Dow business which is responsible for ensuring the company’s downstream businesses have access to a reliable, economically competitive, and sustainable supply of feedstocks. Dow being one of the largest global producers of ethylene and propylene, Shomaly and his team are responsible for sourcing, hedging and trading approximately 1 million barrels per day of feedstocks and managing the related infrastructure of mining, storage and pipelines (MSP) for the company. Additionally, he co-leads Dow’s decarbonize and grow strategy ensuring Dow’s ability to reduce carbon emissions aligned with the company’s 2030 and 2050 emissions reduction and carbon neutrality targets.
Shomaly brings strong banking, business, financial and negotiating skills to his work, as well as a multi-cultural background. Shomaly holds a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration from the University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan, and he is a CMA, CFM and CICP. He is an active member of IMA and FCIB organizations.
Shomaly also serves as a Lead Dow board member in EQUATE Marketing Company (EMC), The Kuwait Olefins Company (TKOC) and The Kuwait Styrene Company (TKSC).
