EPA Process Improvement Workshop

at EQUATE Management Forum

EQUATE Petrochemical Company held its bi-annual Management Forum on June 3, 2008, at Movenpick Hotel and Resort, Al Beda’a.

EQUATE President and CEO Hamad Al-Terkait kicked off the meeting by highlighting recent developments within the organization.

Senior Vice President Dan Gibbs presented a brief account of the company’s business and operational performance, as well as accomplishments.

Business Director and EQUATE Marketing Company President (EMC) Adel Al-Munifi gave an introduction regarding Styrene Business and plans.

The hot topic of the Forum was a workshop on Employee Performance Appraisal (EPA) process conducted with an aim to encourage compliance of EQUATE leaders with the EPA process and to simplify EPA feedback tool system. The EPA process improvement team, Luis Vernis, Naser Al-Ajmi, Yaqoub Al Kandari, Nawaf Al-Khaledi and Sulaiman Al-Bader facilitated the workshop. Leaders grouped in teams to discuss the EPA work process clarity, process timeline, employee satisfaction level and provided suggestions to enhance the feedback tool.

Commission and Startup (CSU) leaders Mohammad Al-Shamary, Adel Al-Dhafiri, Hassan Al-Ibrahim, Homoud Al-Enezi, Khaled Al-Majed and Dick Verhoeven presented the latest updates in EQUATE plant site. Technical Advisor from Information Technology (IT) Department Abdulhadi Al-Ajmi, in his SAP Mapping & Configuration (SMAC) update, presented a concise report on Greater EQUATE readiness plan.

The Management Forum is part of the company’s comprehensive communication initiatives, which advocate and stimulate discussion and open-dialog between the company’s leaders and top executives.  The content and outcome of the forum is communicated by leaders to the rest of the organization following each meeting.
