Continuing its public activities public activity for EQUATE Awareness Campaign for Diabetes (Stay Normal), EQUATE hosted open days at the Avenues, Souq Sharq and Marina malls to spread overall awareness about this health disorder.

Commenting on the campaign, EQUATE VP Technical Services and head of its CSR Team Mohammad Al Benali said, “As an extension of our 2010 Stay Normal for Hypertension, Stay Normal for Diabetes is aimed at creating overall community awareness regarding this illness which affects over 33% of persons within our society. This campaign is part of EQUATE’s ongoing efforts to share overall success with the community through advocating sustainability within the entire State of Kuwait by having overall awareness of such a critical matter.”

Al Benali added, “Being in cooperation with the Ministry of Health (MoH), this campaign is aimed at directing the attention of male and female adults in Kuwait, citizens and expatriates alike, to the importance of periodically monitoring their blood sugar levels to avoid complications relevant to diabetes through proper medical advice and healthy lifestyle.”

In cooperation with MoH staff, EQUATE employees welcomed all patrons who were interested in getting tested for this illness and learn methods to properly handle it through healthy diet, regular exercise and periodic checking. A total of over 1500 persons were tested and received proper medical advice at the three malls.

Stay Normal is part of EQUATE’s CSR efforts which have so far included Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign (Keep Your Life Rosy), EQUATE Plastic Awareness Campaign (Plastics … Fantastic), EQUATE’s Imitative for a Healthy Society (Lighten Up), EQUATE Awareness Campaign for Hypertension (Stay Normal), as well as a number of scientific, industrial and academic endeavors with several organizations within and outside Kuwait.

Stay Normal will continue hosting activities at malls, social gatherings (Dewaneyas) and other venues throughout Kuwait. The campaign’s next activity will be held at Sulayyil Al-Jahra mall on Friday, June 17.
