EQUATE Petrochemical Company and Kuwait Blind Association (KBA) extended an invitation to all members of the Kuwaiti society to attend the Painting Smiles 2 exhibition during February 5-8 to support persons with special needs, in particular the blind.

Speaking on the occasion, EQUATE VP for Technical Services and head of EQUATE CSR Program Mohammad Al Benali said, “EQUATE and KBA are pleased to invite all members of the Kuwaiti society to Painting Smiles 2 exhibition that will include artworks developed by KBA’s members, as well as several children and young individuals, nationals and expats, throughout Kuwait, with all proceeds from the exhibition being dedicated to KBA. This campaign is an extension to a previous campaign launched during 2012 in cooperation with the Kuwait Association for the Care of Children in Hospital (KACCH). EQUATE continuously works, through all activities, to embody its ‘Partners in Success’ tagline with all relevant stakeholders, especially in Kuwait, to apply sustainability principles at every level.”

On his part, KBA Chairman Fayez Al-Azmi said, “This partnership between EQUATE and KBA represents a great initiative to create community awareness about blind persons and the different skills they possess, such as having the ability to develop artworks. Visually impaired individuals are an integral part of the society, thus they have the same rights and duties as all other persons. In addition, I urgeall individuals and organizations in Kuwait to follow the footsteps of EQUATE in supporting the blind to implement the principle of social integration which constitutes a cornerstone for many activities by KBA. In conclusion, I would like to express utmost appreciation and gratitude to EQUATE for this campaign and its integral role in supporting KBA at several levels.”

With the slogan “Because We Care,” this campaign emphasizes the significance of supporting blind individuals in Kuwait through a partnership between KBA’s members and all functions at EQUATE to truly make Painting Smiles 2 a reality. Upon the conclusion of the campaign, an exhibition will be held from the 5th to the 8th of February 2014 at 360 Mall.
