Kuwait – October 5 – 2009 — EQUATE Petrochemical Company announced the appointment of Mohammed Al-Benali as its new Vice President Technical Services.

Al-Benali, a Kuwaiti citizen, has over 25 years expertise in the petrochemical sector and has occupied this position after assuming several leadership roles at Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) and EQUATE since its inception.

His responsibilities at EQUATE will include heading the company’s technical affairs, engineering , IT , materials management and other relevant fields.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the US-based Marquette University.

Al-Benali’s appointment is part of EQUATE’s Succestion Plan which involved many of the Company’s Senior employees who went through comprehensive Executive Programs for about two years after which the selection was made. This is a continuous program adopted by EQUATE to create its own resources for future Leaders.

Considered one of the world’s leading companies in producing Polyethylene and Ethylene Glycol, EQUATE was established in 1995 and it is presently a joint venture between Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), The Dow Chemical Company, Boubyan Petrochemicals Company and Qurain Petrochemical Industries Company. It commenced production in 1997 and currently provides markets in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe with high quality petrochemical products.
