EQUATE Petrochemical Company, Kuwait’s first international joint venture in this industry, sponsored the 2nd Kuwait Oil & Gas Show & Conference (KOGS) 2015 under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
Held once every two years, EQUATE sponsored the 1st KOGS 2013 as part of the company’s local and global partnership with relevant industrial and commercial stakeholders within and outside Kuwait. EQUATE also contributes to this event through participation in panel discussions.
EQUATE President & CEO Mohammad Husain, “The industries of oil, gas and petrochemicals constitute the main sources of income for Gulf countries. The fact that such sectors represent over 90% of our annual income in Kuwait makes their overall development through long-term innovation-based sustainable steps a must.”
Husain noted, “Kuwait has the opportunity to develop these industries by focusing on increasing relevant production, enhancing technological capabilities, prioritizing innovation, and, especially, concentrating on the growth of qualified human resources. Such development is also relevant to forming local and regional industrial downstream and end-product markets capable of utilizing these oil, gas and petrochemical products, which are mainly dedicated for exporting to other regions. For example, during 2014, over 80% of the Gulf’s chemical and petrochemical production was exported to various markets around the world. Thus, we hope that KOGS 2015 will be an opportunity to address and discuss increasing production, technological solutions, overall innovation and developing human resources while focusing on long-term sustainability within a framework of ‘Partners in Success’ at every level.”
