EQUATE Petrochemical Company, Kuwait’s first private sector petrochemical company, earned the Gold Award from the prestigious Transform Awards MENA 2014 for the best internal communication category during a rebrand.

During the award ceremony, EQUATE VP for Technical Services Mohammad Al Benali expressed appreciation for this recognition of EQUATE’s highly effective internal communication strategy from Transform Awards, which are granted on annual basis to several prominent regional companies representing different sectors.

Al Benali added, “EQUATE firmly believes that its employees, the EQUATERs, are its most valuable asset and main element of success. EQUATE’s communication initiatives ensure the alignment and knowledge of employees as part of being ‘Partners in Success’.”

Al Benali noted the importance of internal communication as a key factor in the overall success of at all levels, pointing out “Internal communication is a critical pillar in EQUATE’s strategy which has enabled it to attain many other awards in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S), as well as other fields.

In recognition of its sustainability achievements, EQUATE has earned several prestigious honors, including His Highness the Amir Award for the Best Plant in Kuwait; American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Gold Award in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) for Gulf private sector companies; The Award for Best Gulf Company in Recruiting Nationals; Arabian Business Best CSR Company Award; Oil & Gas (O&G) Middle East CSR Award; O&G Best Implemented Environmental Program of the Year; Middle East Chemical Week (MECW) Plant of the Year Award; as well as Kuwait’s CSR Award in the Industrial and Oil Sector. In addition, EQUATE has received the Highly Commended Best Community Program Award during the First Middle East CSR Award Summit.

Established in 1995, EQUATE is an international joint venture between Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), The Dow Chemical Company (Dow), Boubyan Petrochemical Company (BPC) and Qurain Petrochemical Industries Company (QPIC). Commencing production in 1997, EQUATE is the single operator of a fully integrated world-scale manufacturing facility producing over 5 million tons annually of high-quality petrochemical products which are marketed throughout the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe.
