Kicking off its expanded marine operations, one of EQUATE’s two new berths at Shuaiba Port received its first ever commercial vessel on November 15, 2008.

Upon arrival to this new Bulk Liquids Marine Terminal, the ship Pacific Horizon, carrying a 6,000 metric ton Benzene shipment, was successfully docked and unloaded through the joint efforts of EBSM Operation, MFT Maintenance, DO Operations & Maintenance and the Project Team.

The shipment was received by Greater EQUATE to be used for the commissioning of  Benzene storage tanks and the Ethyl Benzene unit.

This milestone was achieved through the outstanding contribution and dedication of the Project Team, Marine Terminal Operators, EQUATE Marketing Company (EMC), various EQUATE departments, as well as The Kuwait Styrene Company (TKSC) and Kuwait Paraxylene Production Company (KPPC).
