Kuwait Fire Safety Directorate (KFSD) Director of Public Relations & Media Colonel Khalil Al-Amir received a delegation from EQUATE Petrochemical Company, Kuwait’s first international joint-venture in this industry, which was represented by Emergency Services & Security Leader Abdulqader Al-Qabandi and Emergency Response Planner Sultan Redha.
KFSD and EQUATE addressed a number of topics of mutual interest, such as launching a campaign for the safety of desert campers, discussing the production of awareness video flashes to decrease accidents and signing a memorandum of cooperation.
Colonel Al-Amir applauded EQUATE’s overall activities and efforts, especially in matters relevant to community awareness and development, noting the previous partnership during 2014 by launching the much celebrated Safe campaign which decreased accidents during desert camping season by 50% in comparison with previous years.
On his part, Al-Qabandi expressed appreciation and gratitude to KFSD for its notable role in community awareness, adding that overall collaboration between both sides is a clear example of EQUATE’s slogan “Partners in Success” for sustainability through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and other relevant sectors.
At the meeting’s conclusion, EQUATE presented a plaque to Colonel Al-Amir in appreciation of the department’s contribution to the community’s wellbeing.

With its initial founding taking place during 1947, Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) is currently an independent government authority under the supervision of State Minister for Council of Ministers Affairs in the State of Kuwait.
