Under the patronage of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, EQUATE Petrochemical Company, Kuwait’s first international petrochemical joint-venture, sponsored Kuwait’s fifth annual convention on the occasion of “The International Day of Persons with Disabilities” organized by Training Gate International (TGI), Kuwait’s first non-profit company in Kuwait’s history.

EQUATE Vice President for Technical Services and Head of EQUATE Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Team Mohammad Al Benali said, “Based on CSR focus-areas which are key elements in our sustainability strategy, EQUATE directs a great amount of attention to persons with special needs who represent an integral part of the community’s groups and individuals. EQUATE’s support for this conference, held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir, is an affirmation of the state’s consideration of this group. It is also an embodiment of our tagline ‘Partners in Success’ with TGI to create awareness among all relevant stakeholders about this group, their needs, how to support them, and ensuring their integration within the community through all possible means. Along those lines, EQUATE previously launched Painting Smiles 2 in cooperation with Kuwait Blind Association (KBA) with the participation of the children of our employees and many school students through holding an art exhibition to sell a number of artworks with all proceedings going to the association. In addition, the company established the first of its kind multi-purpose hall in Kuwait for students with special needs at the Ministry of Education’s Al-Noor School.”

On her part, TGI Founder & General Manager Kifayah Al-Alban said, “Much appreciation and gratitude to EQUATE for its contribution to this event for the second consecutive year. Such a partnership reflects EQUATE’s firm belief in supporting matters relevant to disabled persons who form 15 percent of the world’s total population according to international figures. We, at TGI, aspire to better serve persons with special needs and integrate them with the community as a whole, as well as empowering them to the fullest in cooperation with all national entities and individuals.”
