US Secretary of Energy, Mr. Samuel W. Bodman, the US Ambassador to Kuwait and the accompanying delegation visited the plants of EQUATE Petrochemicals Company in the Shuaiba Industrial Area on Monday, November 14th, 2005. They were accompanied by Mr. Essa Mohammed Al-Awn, Under-secretary of Energy (Oil), Mr. Saad Ali Al-Shuwaib, the Chairman and Managing Director of Petrochemical Industries Company, Mrs. Maha Mulla Hussain, Vice Chairman and Executive Assistant to the Managing Director for Planning and Joint Ventures at PIC and chairperson of EQUATE Petrochemicals Company.
They were received by Mr. Hamad Al-Terkait, CEO of EQUATE Petrochemicals Company, and vice presidents for technical services, operations and finance as well as several department managers at the various EQUATE plants.
Mr. Al-Terkait then made presentation of EQUATE’s vision, and enumerated the achievements made over the past years in the fields of environment health and safety, successive profits and production. Mr. Al-Terkait also highlighted the various projects in progress, such as the projects that are being carried out in participation with the private sectors, the future expansion of the company’s operations and the role played by EQUATE in the field of national manpower support and development through its current and future projects.
The company’s guests then toured the company’s facilities and plants, witnessing this advanced undertaking which reflects the government’s vision and trend toward diversifying the sources of income, encouraging foreign investment and promoting participation by the Kuwaiti private sector.
